- Modular by design: The new architecture is based on a freely programmable PLC (according to IEC 61131‑3) and can be flexibly adapted via modular I/O interfaces. Whether expansion or customization – SGBA2 remains flexible for your application.
- Fast response to faults: Two powerful processors monitor current and voltage in real time. If a fault occurs, the integrated tripping system reacts immediately – reliably and extremely quickly.
- Clear system insight: An integrated data logger records all relevant values and events. Communication runs via LAN – using Modbus TCP, Profinet, or IEC 61850. This keeps SGBA2 open to various system environments.
Especially in cities, where traction power networks are particularly dense and dynamic, smart solutions are needed. In the development of SGBA2, we took this into account: increased short-circuit resistance, robust components, and easy integration – as required, for example, by S-Bahn Berlin. Moreover, SGBA2 is modular and compact in design, making it suitable for retrofits (replacement of secondary technology) in a wide range of systems.
In the Factory Acceptance Test, SGBA2 proved what it can do. Together with our colleagues from development, production, engineering, and procurement, we fine-tuned the final details – and created a system that stands up to time pressure and changing requirements.
