Alt-Elprojaner Celebrate 35th Anniversary – A Day of Reunion and Connection

On October 14, 2025, around 200 former employees of the former VEB Elektroprojekt und Anlagenbau Berlin, Elpro AG, and today’s Elpro GmbH celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Alt-Elprojaner e.V.

The event took place at the Karlshorst Racetrack and was dedicated to reunion, exchange, and lasting connection.

The association Alt-Elprojaner e.V. was founded in 1990, originating from the former “Early Retirement” group of VEB Elektroprojekt und Anlagenbau Berlin. Since then, the association has organized an annual reunion, offering former colleagues the opportunity to stay connected and look back together on a shared history.

Since 2010, Ursula Mehwald has served as chairwoman, continuing the work of the founding group with great dedication and commitment. Once again this year, she was the driving force behind the successful anniversary celebration.

Alongside the festive program and many personal encounters, a charity raffle was held in support of the Wünschewagen project of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, which fulfills the last wishes of people with terminal illnesses.

During the celebration, a small exhibition displayed artifacts from more than five decades of company history, evoking vivid memories among many guests.

“The Alt-Elprojaner are a living part of our company’s history. Their connection and commitment show that values such as community and solidarity continue to define Elpro across generations,” said Ingo Weber, Managing Director of Elpro GmbH.

Sincere thanks go to Ursula Mehwald and her team for organizing this special day — and to everyone who helps keep this wonderful tradition alive.
