ELPRO executed the replacement construction of the 110/15 kV traction power substation in Braunschweig
operating at 16.7 Hz.
The project included the complete renewal of the substation, the construction of a new traction power
overhead line mast, the integration of the overhead contact line connection, and the dismantling of the
existing facilities.
A key challenge was the implementation under live railway operation. Through precise planning,
structured construction processes, and close coordination with all stakeholders, uninterrupted
power supply was ensured throughout the entire project duration.
