Scope of work: Comprehensive reconstruction of the Berndorf rectifier substation
Scope of Services
ELPRO carried out the complete reconstruction of the Berndorf substation, including:
- Delivery of the substation equipment, including key components such as DC switchgear, medium-voltage systems, and transformers
- Cabling and installation within the existing substation infrastructure
- Commissioning and coordination of technical systems to ensure smooth operation
The reconstruction was executed in accordance with the latest railway electrical engineering standards, strengthening Chemnitz’s infrastructure.
Project Completion & Added Value
The project was completed on schedule and to the full satisfaction of CVAG. Since then, the new Berndorf substation has contributed to power supply reliability and grid stability – ensuring dependable public transport operations in Chemnitz.
