Disconnectors

Elpro disconnectors of the EST, EKT, EDT, ETT, and EUT series offer reliable galvanic isolation for DC switchgear. They are specifically designed for high surge current resistance and overload capacity and comply with DIN EN 50123-3. Thanks to their compact design, they are ideal for applications with limited installation space.

Function

Elpro disconnectors utilize a spring-based contact technology, in which spring-loaded contact fingers press against the busbar. This creates a wiping motion that ensures self-cleaning of the contacts — improving current-carrying capacity and enhancing overload resistance.

The different disconnector types provide tailored solutions for various applications:

  • Busbar Disconnector (EST): Integrated directly into the busbar system – saves space and enables compact designs.
  • Compact Disconnector (EKT): Mounted separately and can also serve as a support element.
  • Double Disconnector (EDT): Two-pole version, ideal for switch truck applications.
  • Triple Disconnector (ETT) & Transfer Disconnector (EUT): Versatile use for complex switching requirements.

Advantages

  • Compact Design: Minimizes installation space and saves room.
  • High Overload Capacity: Engineered for demanding high-current applications.
  • Energy Efficiency: Low drive power requirement of approx. 18 W.
  • Easy Maintenance: Quick replacement of auxiliary components and accessible auxiliary switches.
